Driving Directions to Collingwood
From the Outer Loop Beltway/Traveling East
Exit-177B, Route 1 North to the first traffic light. Right on Franklin Street. Go three blocks, take a right on Washington Street, which becomes the George Washington Parkway at the south end of Alexandria. Drive 4 miles, pass under a stone bridge and take a left into the turning lane at East Boulevard. Then take an immediate right on East Boulevard Drive. Entrance to the Collingwood parking area through stone-pillar gates.
From the Inner Loop Beltway/Traveling West
Exit Old Town/Mt Vernon and follow signs to Mount Vernon; the very first exit after the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Follow the exit to the traffic light and make a right onto Washington Street, which becomes the George Washington Parkway at the south end of Alexandria. Drive 4 miles, pass under a stone bridge and take a left into the turning lane at East Boulevard. Then take an immediate right on East Boulevard Drive. Entrance to the Collingwood parking area through stone-pillar gates.
From Bethesda, Maryland
Take the Beltway to the American Legion Bridge. Take Exit-43 (GW Parkway, South). Take the GW Parkway all the way down towards Mount Vernon. When in Old Town, the road will temporarily become Washington Street. It turns back to the GW Parkway at the south end of Alexandria. Drive 4 miles, pass under a stone bridge and take a left into the turning lane at East Boulevard. Then take an immediate right on East Boulevard Drive. Entrance to the Collingwood parking area through stone-pillar gates.
From the Rosslyn Hotel Area
Get onto Ft. Myer Drive. Go through under pass to the light and take a left at Rt. 50 East (Washington). Note: This area is not well marked so after you see the Rt. 50 East sign pointing straight ahead, get in the next left lane and take a left. You’ll be getting onto the merge for Rt. 50 East. Bear right onto the George Washington Parkway. Continue on the Parkway South towards Mount Vernon. When in Old Town, the road will temporarily become Washington Street. It turns back to the GW Parkway at the south end of Alexandria. Drive 4 miles, pass under a stone bridge and take a left into the turning lane at East Boulevard. Then take an immediate right on East Boulevard Drive. Entrance to the Collingwood parking area through stone-pillar gates.
Airport/Driving Directions to Collingwood
From Reagan National Airport.
Approximately 20 minutes travel time by car or taxi.
Exit from the airport onto George Washington (GW) Parkway South towards Alexandria. When you
get into Old Town, Alexandria, the street will temporarily turn into North Washington Street. Stay on
this all the way through Old Town as it will change back into the GW Parkway. As soon as you are
leaving Old Town, Alexandria, drive 4 miles, pass under a stone bridge and take a left at
Collingwood Road. Then take an immediate right on East Boulevard Drive. Entrance to the
Collingwood parking area one hundred yards south; through stone-pillar gates.
From Baltimore Washington Airport (BWI), New York/New Jersey, and points north via I-95.
Approximately 50 minutes travel time by car or taxi from BWI Airport.
Follow I-95 South to the Washington Metropolitan area. Exit I-95 South at I-495 West (the Capital
Beltway) towards Northern Virginia. Proceed on the Beltway until Exit-1B, Route 1 North to the first
traffic light . Right on Franklin Street. Go three blocks, take a right on Washington Street, which
becomes the George Washington Parkway at the south end of Alexandria. Drive 4 miles, pass under
a stone bridge and take a left at Collingwood Road. Then take an immediate right on East
Boulevard Drive. Entrance to the Collingwood parking area one hundred yards south; through stone-
pillar gates.
Train/Driving Directions to Collingwood
From Amtrak. Union Station
Union Station, located only a few blocks from the Capital, is Washington D.C..s main train station. It
is served by Amtrak, MARC Train Service and Virginia Railway Express (VRE) as well as Washington,
D.C..s Metrorail (on the red line). Taxicabs are generally always available from Union Station in the
front area at Columbus Circle during station hours. Rental cars are also available. To take the metro
to the hotel, get on the red line heading towards Shady Grove or Grosvenor. Get off at the Metro
Center stop and transfer to either the Orange (towards Vienna) or Blue (Franconia-Springfield) line.
Get off at the Rosslyn stop. For those heading towards the Marriott Fairview Park hotel, get on the
Orange (Vienna) line and get off at Dunn Loring. From there take a short taxicab ride to the hotel.
